Laurance Wines to Open to Public - 20 September 2006

Margaret River's newest cellar door will open to the public late in September 2006, following its successful design and construction by Innovest.

The Tuscan-style concrete tilt-up building with a limestone rubble external finish is located on Laurance Wine's picturesque Wilyabrup property and complements the highly awarded Innovest-built existing barrel hall, completed in 2003.

The cellar door building includes a tasting room, class one commercial kitchen, climate controlled Thermomass barrel store, staff offices and amenities. It features extensive use of local products such as granite, limestone and jarrah as well as special products like the clay barrel roof tiles imported from France and timber from the Woolamaloo wharves in Sydney which were fabricated into large trusses, columns and beams. The entry doors originated from a 300 year old monastery.

The project took 17 months to complete and showcases the talents of local tradespeople within the region.

This latest Margaret River landmark is testament to the client's vision for a premium brand wine and enhancement of the area as as tourist destination.
