A contemporary designed two-storey home perched on the Yallingup hillside is fast becoming the most awarded south-west home of 2005, following the results of the SW Housing Industry Association awards held Saturday, 1 October.
The holiday home, built by Innovest Construction, won the HIA-ANZ South-West Housing Awards Home of the Year at a gala dinner held at the South-West Italian Club in Bunbury. The award completes a swag of major gongs for the company this year, including:
Master Builders Association (MBA SW Chapter) Best Country Home award
Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) WA's top single reidential award.
Judges summed up the project by saying: "A difficult yet attractive site was no barrier to either the designer or the builder. Innovative ideas were used to solve some of the issues with a west facing home, including custom made shutters. A superb level of finishing with effective use of composite materials create a stunning home".
The winning Wardanup Cresent home was designed by Perth architects The Architecture Group.
Innovest Construction Director Henry Kusal said the home was a good example of the company's continued drive for building excellence.
